Burners meet UL and are designed for Class I, Div II below 2’
R. A. Nichols Engineering has provided both natural and forced
convection burners ranging from 4 to 120 million Btuh. RAN Eng. burners use
commercial air heating, line burner technology to produce burner emissions below
the 10mg/l EPA standard, without assist gas or time at temperature. RAN Eng
burners utilize an Equalizer tank, to treat rack vapor, ensuring that no assist
gas will be needed. RAN Eng. on-line burners are skid mounted and designed to
minimize installation, maintenance, and operating costs. RAN Eng. forced
convection burners are designed for installation as close as 10’ from a truck
rack or tankage. RAN Eng. uses NFPA commercial burner safety guidelines and use
Maxon line burner technology. RAN Eng designed installations for the oil and gas
industry meet NFPA standards. Our 2,700 cfm unit (shown right) is installed in a
10 lane terminal and was recently tested and certified to NFPA and UL standards
by TUV Rheinland Inspection Group.

R. A. Nichols Engineering has built both stationary, and
portable Burners, which all utilize an
Equalizer. Where high average vapor concentrations
exist a small pilot blower can use the Equalizer as a source for the pilot fuel;
further lowering the cost of operation.
R. A. Nichols Engineering Vapor Burners, come in four
configurations. Every burner configuration reduces outlet emissions to less than
0.5% of inlet vapor concentration, less than 5 mg/l, and/or 99+% efficiency.

Configurations Page.
R. A. Nichols Engineering Vapor Burners are all designed to ensure
burner emissions below the 10mg/l EPA standard, without assist gas or time at
temperature. They are all designed using similar equipment and construction
standards to ensure quality and safety. For more information on our equipment,
please see our Burner Details Page.
VB Installation List is the list of our
Vapor Combustion Systems produced over the last 20 years. In addition we have
sold multiple Vapor Recovery Systems and over 100 Vapor Bladder Systems,
throughout the US and Internationally. To see our complete installation list, please see our
